About

An engineering practice centered on people

Raidoheim is an engineering practice centered on people. What we build should work reliably for the people who use it, so we start with who depends on a system and what they need from it.

We are a small practice and work with a group of collaborators. We build connected hardware for the home; our first product, a Zigbee plant and garden monitor, is in development. We also take on engineering work: remote troubleshooting, electronics design and implementation, and ideation and consultation.

The name

Raido plus heim: "journey's home". The mark is the Raido rune (ᚱ), meaning "ride" or "journey", and it is the R of Raidoheim.

Approach

  1. Understand

We start with what the system is, what goes wrong and what you have already tried.

  2. Clarify

We narrow it down to a root cause or a clear set of requirements, and agree what done looks like.

  3. Deliver

You get the fix, the design or the plan, with a written record of what we found.

Principles

  • Your data stays yours: local-first, cloud optional.

  • Works with what you run: Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, open APIs.

  • AI on your terms: use the assistant you choose, through our API or on device.
